My eye for detail was shaped early—through the art of gem cutting, a skill I learned from my grandfather, a respected master gem cutter and trainer. By the age of 12, I had my own faceting machine and was hand-cutting exotic gemstones. For a high-energy kid to sit still for hours, precisely aligning each facet by eye, it was the perfect introduction to focus, discipline, and creative precision.
Years later, I followed in his footsteps—not just as an artist, but as an educator—paving my own path in the world of cosmetic tattooing. I built a reputation for delivering advanced training and professional development programs across Australia. The same dedication to detail and mastery that began at the gem bench now shapes every technique I teach and every artist I mentor.

STUDENT WORK 🧚🏻♀️
This beautiful colour blend was created using the Mara Mixing Bible formula guide. Once healed, it will soften into a muted reddish brownie-pink—exactly what our client was hoping for: a subtle enhancement that refreshes her appearance without drastically changing her natural look. Think: still her, but just a little fresher.
Notice how we gently extended the pigment to trace the outer edge of her vermillion border? This detail is so important. If you’re skipping this step, you’re missing a prime opportunity to enhance your client’s natural lip fullness—without overlining.
Just remember: don’t go too far. Once you move past the lip skin and into the surrounding facial skin, you’re in a completely different anatomical zone with different healing behaviors and pigment retention. Precision matters.

She wanted microblading—but here’s why we didn’t give it to her…
🧚🏻♀️ Our client had ombré brows done by us 3 years ago. Today, she came in for a refresh, and in her notes I saw: “prefers the look of microblading.”
At the time, we weren’t offering it due to the long-term damage it can cause.
Today, I did MACHINE APPLIED nano hair strokes (no blades) over her beautifully faded ombré base. The only reason I was able to create such fine strokes? Her previous tattoo had healed cleanly—with no discoloration or scar tissue.
If you can’t do hair strokes over your old work, this is your sign to switch it up 🫶🏻

Restoring the lost colour around our clients vermillion border and evening out her natural colour while adding some vibrancy, by Talina.
If you are not confident with custom colour blending drop me a DM I have some resources that help you better understand how the nature of colour works on lip tattooing
My 3 most Challenging Lip Transformations this week ✨
each with unique challenges — especially when dealing with heavily saturated lips (Titanium Dioxide) and mature skin textures.
Working on lips with heavy Titanium Dioxide saturation definitely comes with its own challenges, and it means I need to take a few extra precautions:
1. The skin can feel like I’m tattooing on glass — very challenging getting the pigment to deposit
2. Colour choice takes careful planning. I avoid pigments with high TD, and have to keep in mind I’m working on a white base, not natural lip colour.
3. The skin is often uneven in both texture and tone — so if I use a light or diluted shade, those inconsistencies can show through once healed.
4. My go-to approach here? Layering a soft sheet of colour using a single needle — that’s what I used for all three clients.
⸻
Then there’s working with wrinkles 😮💨
1. The skin inside those lines can be tougher and trickier to implant into.
2. Creating a smooth border on a bumpy surface is a whole thing!
3. And with no visible vermillion border to guide me, I have to rely completely on feel and experience to stay within the lip zone.
